Local School Council

School Councils are designed to bring communities and schools closer together in the spirit of cooperation to:

Solve difficult education problems
Improve academic achievement
Provide support for teachers and administrators
Bring parents into the school-based decision-making process

The Councils are to provide advice, recommendations and assistance, and represent the community of parents and businesses.

Members are to share ideas for school improvement, and bring parents and community together with teachers and administrators to create a better understanding of and mutual respect for each other's concerns.

School Councils are mandated by law (The A+ Reform Act of 2000)
